Physiotherapy

Magnetotherapy, robotic rehabilitation, shockwave, ultrasound and electrical stimulation - calibrated to your exact diagnosis.

What to expect

Physiotherapy at Rehoboth is never a one-size-fits-all assembly line. Every plan starts with a thorough assessment - history, movement screen, orthopaedic and neurological testing - and ends with a written treatment plan that explains exactly what we will do and why.

We hold a full suite of evidence-based modalities under one roof, from manual therapy and magnetotherapy to robotic rehabilitation and shockwave. Most patients use four to six over a plan, sequenced to their stage of healing, with re-measurement built in.

Understanding physiotherapy

Understanding Modern Physiotherapy Care

Physiotherapy is a hands-on, science-led approach to restoring movement, easing pain and helping your body work the way it should. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, our therapists look at how your joints, muscles and nerves function together, then build a programme around the findings. At Rehoboth we combine skilled manual therapy with technologies such as magnetotherapy, robotic rehabilitation and shockwave, each chosen because it suits your particular diagnosis. The aim is steady, measurable progress, supported by movement and exercise you can carry into daily life rather than a quick fix that fades.

How it works depends on what your assessment reveals. Some techniques calm irritated tissue and reduce pain so you can move more comfortably, while others stimulate healing, improve circulation or retrain the way you control a joint. Ultrasound and electrical stimulation can support tissue repair, magnetotherapy may help with inflammation, and shockwave is often useful for stubborn tendon problems. Manual therapy and guided exercise then rebuild strength, flexibility and confidence. Because every body responds differently, your therapist monitors your reaction at each stage and adjusts the balance of treatments so the plan keeps moving in the right direction.

Conditions And People We Help

Physiotherapy suits a wide range of problems, from sudden injuries to long-standing aches that have quietly limited what you do. We regularly help people with back and neck pain, sciatica and frozen shoulder, as well as arthritis and other joint pain that makes everyday tasks harder. Sports injuries, whether from training, the gym or weekend activity, respond well to a structured plan, and post-operative rehabilitation helps you regain movement safely after surgery. Whatever brought you in, the goal stays the same. We aim to understand the cause, settle the symptoms and restore the function that matters most to you.

Care is suitable for people of many ages and activity levels, from office workers and parents to athletes and those staying active later in life. You do not need to be in severe pain to benefit, and for most cases no referral is needed, so you can come to us directly. If your situation calls for imaging, a specialist opinion or input from your doctor, we will say so clearly and help coordinate the next step. Should anything we find sit outside our scope, we will guide you towards appropriate care rather than continue treatment that is unlikely to help.

Your Assessment And Treatment Plan

Every journey at Rehoboth begins with a thorough assessment. Your therapist will listen to your history, ask how the problem affects your work, sleep and activities, and examine how you move, your strength and any areas of restriction or sensitivity. This helps us identify not only where it hurts but why, which is often a different part of the body altogether. We take time to explain what we find in plain language, answer your questions and make sure you understand the likely cause. Nothing proceeds until you feel comfortable and have a clear picture of the way forward.

From there, we set out a written treatment plan tailored to your diagnosis and your goals. It outlines the techniques we recommend, how often you might attend and the milestones we will track together, so progress never feels vague. Same-week appointments are usually available, and we offer direct billing with CINICO and major insurers to keep the process simple. Because we work as a team across our five clinics in Grand Cayman, your plan can draw on the right mix of skills and equipment. You stay informed at every visit, and the plan adapts as your body responds.

Results, Recovery And Ongoing Support

Recovery is rarely a straight line, and honest expectations matter. Many people notice early relief in their symptoms, while lasting change in strength, mobility and confidence builds more gradually as tissues heal and movement patterns improve. Your therapist will review your progress regularly, celebrate the gains and adjust anything that is not working as hoped. Techniques such as kinesio taping, postural re-education and gait retraining often play a part later in the plan, helping you move well rather than simply move without pain. The focus throughout is durable improvement that holds up once treatment eases off.

Aftercare is built into how we work. As you improve, we shift towards a home programme and practical advice for work, sport and daily routines, so you can maintain your gains independently and recognise early signs if a problem returns. Should you need it, the door stays open for a review or a short top-up of treatment. Because our therapists collaborate closely and can liaise with your doctor or specialist when appropriate, your physiotherapy sits within a wider circle of care rather than standing alone. The result is support that respects your goals and grows with your recovery.

Frequently asked physiotherapy questions

No referral is needed for most cases, so you can book directly. Some insurers ask for a GP letter for reimbursement, which our front desk arranges for you.

Your first visit is about a 45-minute assessment covering your history, a movement screen and orthopaedic or neurological testing, followed by a written treatment plan. Hands-on treatment often begins the same visit.

It depends on your condition, but many musculoskeletal problems improve within four to six sessions, with re-assessment built in. You get a clear plan rather than open-ended visits.

Most treatment is comfortable. Some techniques can cause brief discomfort as we restore movement, and we always work within your tolerance and explain each step.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in, and bring photo ID, your insurance card and any recent imaging (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound) or specialist reports.
